Honouring Menstrual
Cycles and Perimenopause
When coaching clients to lose weight, it’s essential to consider the menstrual cycle and perimenopause because both significantly impact hormonal fluctuations, energy levels, and emotional well-being. The menstrual cycle consists of distinct phases: menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal phases each influencing metabolism, appetite, and fat storage. For example, during the luteal phase, women may experience increased cravings and a higher tendency to retain water, which can affect their weight loss progress.

In addition, perimenopause introduces a range of hormonal changes that can lead to weight gain, as estrogen levels fluctuate and eventually decline. Understanding these cycles allows me to tailor coaching strategies, ensuring they align with the individual’s physical and emotional state during these periods. By acknowledging these factors, I can help women develop sustainable, effective weight loss plans that respect their unique bodies and empower them to achieve their health goals while navigating the challenges posed by hormonal changes. No Pre-Made Meal Plans
I don’t create pre-made meal plans because my mission is to empower individuals to craft their own personalized diets. The reality is that people are far more likely to adhere to a dietary approach that reflects their own tastes and preferences. A one-size-fits-all meal plan simply won't resonate with everyone; what works for one person may not work for another. Additionally, cultural backgrounds play a significant role in food preferences. Someone who enjoys the spicy flavours of their native cuisine may find it challenging to adhere to a plan filled with unfamiliar dishes. By teaching people how to incorporate the foods they already love into a balanced and sustainable eating routine, I help them build a diet that they can maintain over the long term. Plus, I believe in allowing room for indulgences, which is why I also provide a budget for treat items, ensuring that enjoying life is part of the journey toward better health.​​
Working with Beginners
Training beginners is a passion of mine because I genuinely enjoy guiding individuals on their journey to fitness. Understanding that many of my clients may have been inactive for years, I approach each session with patience and empathy. I take the time to listen to their concerns and limitations, which allows me to design workouts that are not only safe but also tailored to their unique needs. By focusing on gradual progression, I help them build confidence and competence, ensuring that every step they take is a positive one.
